A team from UN Members Representatives visited members of Citizen Awareness Centre (CAC) and Ward Citizen Forum (WCF) of Nuwakot

On 20 April 2017, a team of UN Board members from New York, USA visited members of Citizen Awareness Centre and Ward Citizen Forum of Ward 7 of Belkot Gadi Municipality, formerly Ratmate VDC of Nuwakot District. The visit was focused on observing UN’s works at the local level from different UN agencies in Nepal. The team members were representative of different UN agencies like WFP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNOPS, and UNDP, and from various countries like Mexico, Japan, USA, Mauritius.

On 16 April 2017, a team from UN Board members from New York, USA visited CAC and WCF of ward no 3 of Golanjor Rural Municipality, formerly Bhuwaneshwori VDC of Sindhuli District.  The visit was focused on observing UN’s works at the local level from different UN agencies in Nepal. The team comprised of members of various countries like Guyana, Congo (Rep of Brazzaville), UAE, Montenegro, Moldova. The group interacted with the members of CAC and WCF, and queried about their activities and achievement as per the programme objectives.

Norwegian State Secretary Honorable Ms. Tone Skogen visited Citizen Awareness Centre (CAC) of Kavre

Norwegian State Secretary, Honorable Ms. Tone Skogen visited Suryodaya CAC of Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok on 22 March 2017. Norwegian Ambassador for Nepal Mr. Kjell Tormod Pettersen had also accompanied the state Secretary. The visit was focused on observing UN’s work at the local level, particularly that of LGCDP. She interacted with the members of CAC whereby she emphasized on the role of male members in their community and families, and their support in promoting CAC. She was also interested in the members’ participation in the upcoming local election.

Western Regional Consultative Workshop 2016 held in Pokhara

A two-day regional level consultative workshop of the Western Development Region was organized in Pokhara on December 22-23, 2016 by LGCDP. The overall objective of the programme was to strenthen LGCDP Programme outputs and provide efficient technical backstopping to the LBs thereby service delivery of LBs made effective. Total of 57 core participants, 9 specialists from Programme Coordination Unit (PCU) and RCU experts participated in the workshop.
