A three day joint field visit programme was organized prior to the National Advisory Committee Meeting as mandated by JFA within the programme districts. The main objective of the visit was to observe and monitor the present status of LGCDP activities and its effectiveness in the local governance and community development programme that would be helpful in the formulation of new strategies if/when needed. The visit was organized under the leadership of MoFALD Secretary Mr. Madhav Prasad Regmi in Jhapa, Ilam and Pachthar districts, particularly in Kankai Mun, Sani Arjun Mun, Birtamode Mun, DDC Jhapa, DDC Ilam, LGCDP, UNICEF Biratnagar and UNDP Biratnagar.
The team consisted of the Secretary of MoFALD Mr. Madhav Pd Regmi, Joint secretary and NPD of LGCDP programme Mr Reshmi Raj Pandey, National Programme Manager Mr. Eshor Raj Poudel and representatives of seven donor organizations or countries— Norway, Denmark, DFID, UNDP, UNICEF, ADB, UNV—together with the DPs Coordinator. Local arrangements for the visit was managed by the RCU Biratnagar in consultation with DDCs and Municipalities.
There were a total of 22 members team. The team was divided in two sub group. RCU Experts facilitated both the teams. LDOs, EOs, VDC secretaries. Staff members from DDCs and Municipalities also traveled with the group and acted as hosts in their respective home Districts. The date of the visit were: 24-26th Nov 2015.
