The team of ICT Volunteers have prepared very useful reports based on the status of social media in municipalities and district development committees of Eastern Region. With these reports one can have insights on the current status of social media, usage of social media in local bodies, the public response at social media pages of local bodies, different types of social media created, the role of ICT Volunteer in initiating or encouraging the of social media in local bodies.
Social media is a very powerful tool, in order to provide interactive services to citizens, promote transparency and accountability and to disseminate information, and noticed easily and rapidly among citizens and staff. Facebook is a very popular social media and citizens have high access to it. These reports will help us prioritize our areas and gives us more idea about how to promote and use social media in local body.
